Any suggestions on how to sort this? If the Chromecast cannot start properly, other apps have no way to find any Chromecast devices and therefore, most apps will not display the cast icon. I have setup everything and I have two of my gmail accounts working within the gmail app. Options: -k: keep the data and cache directories around after package removal. All work without issues so far.

Candace Mewborn January 13, 2018, I did this in the order you have listed, the only thing I did different was when it said updated version I downloaded that one thinking it would be best to use that. I have completed all steps and everything appears to be running. Once it finishes booting up, launch the Google Play Store and follow the instructions there for logging into your Google account. I just went through these simple straightforward instructions and it worked perfectly the first time. Will the Google Play Store still work whenever you get those software updates or will you have to go through the download process each time you get an update? Of concern also was that the 2017 version of this tablet was now blocked from being able to load Google Play + almost all the reviews I read are from Fall 2017. So I removed everything and tried again.
Clicked on Google Play and was able to enter my account information. This allows me to install OverDrive for ePub books. For clarification I have previously added Google to my own latest Fire 7 in the last 4 weeks. How To First things first: Turn on your Fire tablet, and go to the Amazon Appstore. You need install the consistent version of the apps based on Google play services and Google framework versions. Google play services are not officially supported on Fire tablets. You have now removed the newer version and reverted to the original version that came with your Kindle Fire. I ensured that i selected the latest version. Follow the prompts to install the app. I was able to download a game from the store but it has me starting from the beginning. What do you think has happened and how can I fix it? No issues with the install. There are no known workaround until Amazon changes its code. Just replacing an old Galaxy and wanted inexpensive, so got the fire — forgetting about the loss of Google Play! Any idea what I did wrong aside from buy the tablet before checking more forums lol? Though we did get this to work on our device using both of the methods described above, have reported the same solution, a minority of users have reported that both the screen lock workaround and the recent apps button method did not work for them to activate the installation method. You will need to download these manually, but first you need a competent file manager to make it easier for you. You can find the newly downloaded files here. Such is the nature of hack-y workarounds like this, unfortunately. Also immediately installed Microsoft Launcher, and rarely even see the Amazon home page lol.
