Hope this helps, and thanks! Today, I try again just now. Got dc for some reason, and then my launcher crashed right afterwards. I had this issue also, so i uninstalled the game and launcher. The sim will run at first then when I exit out fo a mission, it will not go back to the briefing screen - just desktop. I had the same thing happen to me last night. I don't have any isntalled. The only two things I can get to work, and it still doesn't mostly, is disable Windefend with a 3rd party app called NoDefender, and delete the user folder in documents, under icarus.
Allow the game to up date and it should work fine. I've only been trying to play for over a week and a half, with no real solution. It prevents any useful work with OpenShot. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Still have the same problem.
Ok, I searched this forum for days and finally found someone that lead me to fixing the problem. This problem seems to be cause by some Anti Virus softwares: I use Kaspersky Internet Security 15, adding the program to the exclusion list still causes the problem. My guess is it must be a corrupted project file. I share your disappointment with Open Shot for Windows. This is a constant error.
Does anyone have a fix for this issue? If either of those have a yes as an answer, you could try a system restore to an earlier configuration and see if the problem persists. I know I'm not the only one who is wondering, but; Is there at least any confirmation that someone is looking into fixing the launcher crash at all, or no? It's worked before and it has a great interface and it looks like great effects. If I had to take a huge guess, I would say we have some kind of race condition happening, where every once in a while, something happens in an unexpected order. I also have a few wish list items, but this does not look like the place to mention them at least for now. A Check for the event log. Doesn't matter if your windows is Activated or not, can always do that latter. I know its beta but the launcher crash i cant even play for a second. I've tried the Group Policy fix.

Also, Blender is only invoked when rendering 3D Animated titles, so unless you are getting a crash on that screen, it's probably not related to Blender. I've tested the video files linked above on Windows 10, and everything works fine for me.
